Primary Group Progression Tie-breakers
While this independent desk presents a static historical snapshot, standard group stage formats typically utilize structured tie-breaker criteria when multiple teams finish level on points at the conclusion of three matches:
- Total Goal Difference: Teams with a higher Goal Difference (GD) across all three matches take precedence.
- Total Goals Scored: The team with the higher cumulative Goals For (GF) takes precedence.
- Head-to-Head Points: Points earned in matches played exclusively between the tied teams.
- Head-to-Head Goal Difference: Goal difference from matches between the tied teams.
- Head-to-Head Goals Scored: Goals scored in matches between the tied teams.
